Do You Recommend Learning Facebook Ads Before Google Ads?

What would be more beneficial to learn first?

Facebook Ads or Google Ads?

The answer is: IT DEPENDS on what you are advertising.

My main area of expertise is Google Ads. That’s not to say that Google Ads is the only answer or even the best answer. There are lots of other advertising platforms out there including Twitter, and LinkedIn. And, of course, Facebook is the major platform after to Google Ads.

If you want to use Google Search Ads, you need to be advertising something that people are searching for.

If they are not searching for your product or service, it doesn’t make sense to advertise that on Google Ads.

With Facebook Ads, you’re getting in front of people who weren’t necessarily searching for anything. They were just killing time on Facebook. It’s possible you can show something that makes them interested, they go through your funnel to your order page, and end up being your customer. All because they saw your Facebook Ad.

That’s not possible with Google Ads. With Google Search Ads, you’re only going to be in front of people who are actually searching for the thing you offer.

If you’re selling a product or service that people are out there searching for, I do think it’s more important to get on Google Ads first, and then perhaps get on Facebook Ads later. One reason is it’s going to be a lot easier. It’s a lot easier to make someone become a customer if they are searching for a thing, and you can put an ad in front of them while they are searching. It’s a lot harder to get them to become a customer if you’re getting them into your world by interrupting whatever they were doing on Facebook.

That means if nobody is searching for what you’re offering, then perhaps Facebook Ads is one of the best ways to get in front of people.

Of course there are other facets of Google Ads like banner ads, display ads. Which are also, in a way, interrupting people from what  they’re doing and get them into your website. I think, compared to Facebook ads, Facebook ads are usually going to work better than Google display ads. If you have a good Facebook ad, you should be able to get traffic, leads, and customers at a cheaper cost than you could be Google banner ads.

Another way to get your product in front of people who aren’t actively searching for it is YouTube Ads.

This could go either way. Sometimes, YouTube Ads work a lot better than Facebook Ads, and vise versa. Depending on what you’re selling, sometimes there’s not a good way to target people with YouTube Ads.

It really comes down to your specific situation, and the things that you are advertising.

I can’t say that one is better than the other. If you’ve already studied Facebook Ads, and it seems to be working for you, then keep going with that. Once you feel that you’ve exhausted Facebook Ads and things are running smoothly, then you have time to try a new platform.

Google Ads is not the only platform available for businesses that want to advertise their products and services. I use both Google Ads and Facebook Ads.
