Google Ads Negative Keyword Match Types

Google is masterful at getting advertisers to part with their money.

They’re better at milking people dry than Disney World and Vegas combined.

Luckily, if you know how the game is rigged, you can stack the odds in your favor and win. (Stick with me, my good friend, and I’ll make sure you know the ways in which the game is rigged.)

In fact, almost every “recommended” setting in Google Ads is a surefire way to spend good money on bad traffic. Every conversation you have with a Google rep is an attempt to move more cash from your bank account into theirs.

Yesterday I showed you a video about keyword match types, and how they’re not all they’re cracked up to be…

About how there is nothing exact about exact match keywords…

This is yet another way Google gets people to spend money they didn’t intend to spend.

Yes, Google is very liberal when it comes to keyword match types.

But with negative keywords, it is completely different. With negative keyword match types, Google takes what you enter and uses it very precisely.

If you have boobs as a negative keyword, and someone’s search query includes a misspelling…

boobz
bewbs
booobs
boobies
bloobs

…your negative keyword will do nothing.

Only the specific words and phrases on your negative keyword list will be effective in shielding your ads from irrelevant searches.

Watch this video to find out more about how negative keyword match types work. They can be tricky little buggers.
